About this product

Product Information

After the love of his life, Lala, is kidnapped by the Great Devil and taken to his haunted castle, our hero Lolo sets out to rescue her. The journey is perilous, as the Great Devil’s fortress is guarded by a massive army. But Lolo has a few tricks up his sleeve, including a Magic Shot that turns enemies into eggs and an Emerald Framer that shields him from attacks. Combining clever environmental puzzles with tricky enemies and an engaging style, Adventures of Lolo is a true classic!

This was the first game in the Eggerland puzzle series to be released in North America, and though it is primarily based on the Japanese-only, Eggerland: Revival of the Labyrinth, it isn't technically a port since it also boasted remixed levels and with several US-exclusive stages and pieces of art.

    Lolo is a classic!

First off "Good Graphics" in this case is kinda opinion based. I like it, because I like retro gaming. Second Lolo is a classic and gem of the NES game library. For hours of puzzle solving and the best kind of satisfaction of solving a hard puzzle. Plus the nostalgic factor for me. So yeah.... Definitely worth trying to get your own copy of "The Adventures of Lolo"! The story is, You're Lolo... An egg shaped... Thing. And your girlfriend gets kidnapped! Gotta rescue her! So you go into a castle where you gotta avoid getting squished, drowned, shot, poisoned, and beat up. Using the blocks you push around to trap enemies or use a power to turn them or other objects to an egg briefly and move it to help you, or use twice to remove it altogether. Anyway super fun! And addicting!

  • The Second "Western" Eggerland Game

"The Adventures of Lolo" (US: 4/20/1989, Europe: 2/21/1991) is the second game in the "Eggerland" series to be released outside of Japan, the first being "Eggerland Mystery" (Japan: 6/28/1985, Europe: 1987). However, "The Adventures of Lolo" simply combines maps from previous Eggerland titles (i.e. "Eggerland," "Eggerland- Departure from Creation," and "Eggerland- Revival of the Labyrinth") and puts them into one 50 map game (10 floors with 5 rooms each). As such, Japanese gamers (and those like myself who have played the Japanese games) will find this game to be a bit on the "easy" side. However, is this necessarily a "bad" thing? I will explain. Hal Labs made this game have a "learning curve" whereby the first few "Levels" (sets of 5 maps) introduce the player to different concepts ...

  • Great puzzler for the NES

One of the best puzzle games on the NES. The music is repetitive, but it’s a good tune that you’ll be humming or whistling long after you turn the game off. The puzzles require some out of the box thinking, but are so rewarding once you figure them out.

  • The Adventures of LoLo

I bought this game because I played it as a child and always rented it from the video store but never actually owned it, therefore I was never able to beat or finish the game. My husband and I are definitely "video game junkies" with a passion for fun. We bought the game and with eachother's help we were finally able to finish the game that I had started so many years ago. This game is great for those individuals who like to work that very important "muscle" called the brain...it needs to be exercised as well to stay sharp. This game combines the need for strategy as well as skill to conquer the evil devil who kidnaps Princess LaLa. So if you like puzzles, strategy or just a challenge every now and then, this game is for you!
