About this product

Product Information

Although guitar heroics often take the lead in modern popular music, rock & roll has always been a group activity, and Activision's Band Hero aims to gets the whole crew into the act. As its title proclaims, the continuation of the genre-founding Guitar Hero series sets center stage for the whole band -- drummers and vocalists as well as lead and bass guitarists -- and is designed to let gamers play along with a diverse selection of contemporary and classic rock and pop songs, using their favorite instruments in their own style. To keep the focus on fun, Band Hero offers "No Fail" gameplay modes for instrumentalists, and a "Sing-Along" mode for karaoke-style parties, allowing players to open up and express themselves, without worrying about keeping up with progressions or scoring points. The game's "Party Play" mode allows players to drop in and out of a song at will, as the music keeps playing.

Hardcore console rockers looking for a challenge can still find it, in the game's more traditional modes of play. Bands can battle in "Rockfest" competitive modes such as "Elimination," "Do or Die," "Perfectionist," and "Pro Face Off." The Wii edition of the game offers a number of console-exclusive features, including the ability to play as a favorite Mii character. Wii gamers can use Guitar Hero and Band Hero musical instrument controllers, or play along to drum parts using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Offstage players can get into the act as well, with a feature that allows players to stage their own shows with custom lighting effects. Players with the DS version of the game can connect wirelessly to Band Hero for Wii, and make on-the-fly playlist requests and other challenges to the live performers, unlocking new in-game rewards.

The console disc edition of Band Hero offers more than 65 popular songs. Top-selling country crossover star Taylor Swift is prominently featured in the game, with the inclusion of three songs from her first two original albums, and the artist's performances were motion-captured to bring her in-game persona realistically to life. Guitarist and singer Adam Levine of Maroon 5 was motion-captured, as well, for his appearance in the game as a playable character. Band Hero's play-along soundtrack also includes timeless tracks such as David Bowie's "Let's Dance," Devo's "Whip It," the Jackson 5's "ABC," "Mr. Roboto" from Styx, and original hit singles from a diverse selection of artists, including Aly and AJ, Cheap Trick, Fall Out Boy, the Go-Gos, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Roy Orbison, Tonic, the Village People, and many others.

    Band hero

I’m glad this game worked. Graphics aren’t great because it’s an older model and I have a fairly new smart TV that’s kind of big so the picture isn’t full but is still fun to play and no working issues.

  • A fun game, best for kids and teens

I bought the Wii version of Band Hero for my niece and nephew. I have it myself on PS2. It is a fun game, plays much like most Guitar Hero games. I like that it is not too hard for beginners, but I still found it challenging on the harder settings. In this game, you can play as Taylor Swift, Adam Levine and others once you unlock the characters by playing their songs. There are many pop and teen songs on this version, which is why I bought it for an 8 and 12 year old. As an adult, I found it annoying that any even remotely questionable word in the lyrics is cut out, it is especially annoying when trying to sing. This game is great for kids and teens, and fun for adults as well, but if you are looking for a game with more alternative music and uncensored lyrics, I would recommend Guitar ...

  • Fun and More Vocals

I bought Band Hero to be able to import Guitar Hero 5 & GH Smash Hits into it. For the Wii, Band Hero allows us to do this like other platform users. BH lets more people sing vocals and has Harmonies like Beatles and Green Day Rock Band. I started out with Rock Band 2 and prefer the RB2 instruments and the way the notes are done on RB2. Unfortunately on the Wii RB products do not allow importing of music from other games just DLC. Band Hero lets you import and also lets you buy track packs which is something else you can't do with Rock Band on the Wii. I'm hoping with Rock Band 3 that Wii users will be able to do the things that Band Hero lets you do.

  • Band Hero Wii is awesome!

I love how you don't have to have the whole Band Hero kit to play the game. We eventually will, but for now just have Guitar Hero, so hence, one guitar. My friend gave me a microphone, so you can play with just one or two people if that is what you want, too. I can practice singing by myself if I want. If you have 4 guitars, use them! If you have 4 mics, go for it! If you only have a drum kit, that's ok too. Don't let the name fool you - you can use any combination of mics, guitars, or drums. This has a great set list, and it's easy to unlock songs. Have fun!

  • Miss the Rock!!

I've always been good with music games and so far I am pleased with this game. Graphics are good, but compared to the other guitar hero games, it's a lil bit more Pop orientated, which does bother me. Gameplay is still the same so I'm happy with that, although i would've been nice if they had left the kick drum marker be purple... throws me off... Selection of music is good, wish they had more rock music thou. So overall, the game is good, but it could be better.
