Ashley, who is also in love with Scarlett, marries his genteel cousin Melanie (Olivia de Havilland) because he believes that their quiet similarities will create a better marriage than Scarlett's passion. Meanwhile, sparks fly between Rhett and Scarlett at their first encounter and continue throughout Scarlett's first two marriages. Scarlett and Rhett finally wed, but Scarlett continues to pine for her beloved Ashley. Set against the Civil War and Southern Reconstruction, this tragic love quadrangle offers the burning of Atlanta and fields of wounded Confederates as part of its lush scenery. Excellent Collection for the GWW Lover!
I bought this as a gift for a Gone with the Wind fan, and I heard back right away on its greatness. Aside from the full movie DVD's (which is still a great film to watch), there are many extras elements of the movie's history in this collection, like pictures and documents related to the movie that collectors and movie lovers will find fascinating. It also came in a lovely box that can keep the collection together nicely, or be reused. All in all, this is an excellent product for anyone GWW Lover, or Older Movie Fan.I bought this as a gift for a Gone with the Wind fan, and I heard back right away on its greatness. Gone With The Wind
Of course this movie is an all time Classic. And shows how people were affected by the hard times, even people that were wealthy in the beginning. It does present I think a great decpiction of the times. And Scarlett was a true Lady of the South, but shows strength that would do any one proud. This is truly Clark Gable at his best !!! There is no way you can not be wrapped up in this movie even tho it is a lengthy one. I'm not much of a writer, obviously, but I can say this. I have read the book and watched to movie at least once a year for many, many years.Of course this movie is an all time Classic.
