Have only owned it a short time, but so far it has lived up to good reviews, and met or exceeded my expectations. I use my grinder to prepare beans for drip coffee, and this unit accepts enough beans for a full 12 cup pot. The convenient self timer means you don't have to stand in front of the unit and hold a button down to complete the grind. I also find it is less noisy than my previous grinder, and the end product is uniform in size, which is a plus for even extraction. It has a very solid feel to it, and is a handsome addition to our counter top coffee preparation area.

These things have gotten way too expensive for used and in need of repair and new burrs. By the time you update the parts and pay these crazy ebay prices, you might as well buy a new one. the updated models are better in most ways. i got one, but turned out there were other issues not listed and i could have just bought a new one. but at the end of the day, if it turns on it will grind a pot of coffee well enough, even with old burrs. might just take longer and make more noise. previously i had a Krups burr grinder that i got on sale. idk, they all grind coffee. i know there are differences, but if you really care about those differences, then get a new one in good condition, and if you don’t care, then why spend so much extra for something several years used?

I bought this grinder hoping it was a quality unit. After my first use I am extremely pleased. I found the settings very easy to adjust. But the best thing was the speed which it filled my canister. My old grinder would take 15 min this one was less than 5 min. I would definitely purchase it again

The Baratza grinder is big, bulky, clumsy, and awkward to use at best. Not well designed, clogs easily, and difficult for the average person to clean and operate. It takes a lot of time to grind beans compared to a $25.00 Krups grinder. The only thing this grinder is good for is a door stop. I wasted over $100.00 on this door stop. To the average person I recommend buying a krups or similar grinder. Determine how much time you need to run the grinder to achieve you desired grind. I have found 15 seconds grinding beans delivers perfect drip grind coffee. My Krups cleans easily, does a great job, and does in 15 seconds what the Baratza takes a minimum of 1 1/2 minutes to do. Lets see, 90 seconds at best using the Door Stop or 5 seconds using my Krups. Pretty much a no brainer.

Have been using it for a few weeks and do not see ANY problems! Does what I want it to do! Grind about as uniform and free from fines as one could expect from a product in this price range. Might get as good of a grind with more economical products, but it is quiet, and solid, and feels of quality.
