Its a good hiking gps device, so far anyway. Easy to use?... Well, it is after you learn how to access its features, etc, a definite learning curve if you're new to these gps devices. Youtube videos help out a bit. This eTrex along with the associated bundle is a pretty good value.

What I like about this product. Long battery life, design for outdoor. rugged, reliable. What I don't like about this product. Poor GUI, no routable map included(you have to buy or download from OSM (open street map), slow. Overpriced. At work, we often laugh at the product's poor user interface. This usually has to do with the company cheap out on hiring GUI developer.. In the Garmin world, many brilliant engineers make reliable products but makes poor user interfaces. This poor user interface makes very hard to plan any route on this GPS. I have to rely on Garmin basecamp desktop app, another product that has really poor user interface. Also this unit does not come with routable map. You have to buy one for $80 from Garmin or download OSM from internet. Google it.

Wasn't sure i would like this but it seems to be a good little GPS. Maybe some time i will get the 32x cause like the two other features you get with it. Haven't had a chance to use it on an day hike. Hopefully soon.

I am in the woods training Government and law Enforcement almost every day. The E-Trex works great. Easy to use, reliable and accurate. Small size is a plus. Uses standard AA batteries so I don't have to worry "Is it Charged".

This product has all of the features of my eTrex 20 and more. Works great. Even though I have a phone app this device is more precise.
