    a great set of oldies.

    this album is A LOT of oldies that made john lennon want to be a rocker as a young man. they are mostly by the rockers from the 50's including buddy holly, fats domino, and chuck berry. curiously, there is no elvis who john once stated as his #1 influence. anyhow, he executes these songs flawlessly, many times outdoing the original. his covers of 'be bop a lula" and "you cant catch me" atesst to that. it is a great collection of oldies.

    Nice to have this great CD of an expanded version of John's return to his musical roots. Too bad it's out of print - let's wait for the Deluxe Box Set.
