Smooth to hold and smooth writing too.
I purchased this pen to use with a favorite type of refill but after trying it "as received" I decided to leave it as is. The pen operates flawlessly with a twist action, and writes with a smooth non skip line. The body is smooth and comfortable to hold. It's my new everyday writer.
