The sim slot is fiddly. Make sure to pull the metal thing toward the middle and not toward the left edge of the phone and feel for the click that's almost not there, then it will recognize your sim card. Otherwise, this phone might as well have been new with a little fingerprint grease on it, which a rub down in alcohol and a soft cloth always cures. MINE works. Great deal. Thank you.

    A good basic phone

    For the price, this is a very good basic phone for calls and text. Fits neatly into pockets. Would have been more convenient if the whatsapp app was installed and accessible, but that is only a good-to-have feature.
