Today is a May of 2020 and I still had a Windows XP SP1 at my work, which suddenly refused to recognize any USB port, regardless that drivers are installed correct (no problems in Device Manager). I was lucky to have PS/2 mouse and keyboard, because USB based ones would be recognized. I tried every trick I know or could Google. Nothing worked. This PCI to USB Adapter solved my problem in 30 seconds. I just inserted it in PCI slot and boot up, Windows XP SP1 recognized it at once, installed the drivers and all my USB devices could work through this adapter easily. No additional drivers required, even if they were sent on included CD. Cons on this PCI USB 2.0 Card:
The card actually functions properly with Microsoft Drivers. However the CD "USB2 CONNECT" by Adaptec is missing a file and subsequently the included utility will not run. Also the installation program by Adaptec finishes with an error. I do not need the utility, but cannot recommend the total package as some users might not get the card to work.
