These two Seagate Hard Drives seem to be working. The Seller did cause confusion, because it took awhile to find the Hard Drives with specifications that I requested. They said one Drive was bad and asked if I wanted a refund. Then, they said that they found another Hard Drive and shipped them. The Seller also, increased the price of these Hard Drives. It was still a good price. Shipping took a little longer than I expected, from China. The Drives were packed safely with bubble wrap.

    This is a great buy if you have an old IDE Laptop or case.

    I got this hard drive used for a good price, to fit into my external 2.5 IDE case. Gave it to my son who put a Linux OS on it, and now he keeps a basic computer system on it. He connects it to any ones computer and boots it up to play his games or whatever he needs to do with it. The point is, This was a great buy for me, the hard drive does what it needs to do and fits perfectly in a 2.5 external IDE case, it is also small enough to carry around even as a backup drive. It has only 100 gigs but for Linux that's a lot of space :).

    Successful HDD Update for a Vintage Toshiba Laptop

    The MK1031GAS 100GB proved a perfect replacement for a failed MK1011GAV HDD in a Toshiba T8000 Laptop (manufactured in 1999). The original caddy fitted the new HDD like a glove, as did the motherboard adapter. An original Win98 CD formatted the drive and reinstallation of Toshiba t8k Utilities & Drivers updates has resulted in a refurbished vintage laptop with a tenfold increase in HDD capacity.

    The speed and performance of this hard drive is great.

    This hard drive is highly recommended by me. I am very glad I bought it. It's speed and performance is great. If you can't afford a new one this is the one to buy.

    Best bang for the buck.

    Great low cost hard drive for older IDE based laptops needing an upgrade. 100GB gives you plenty of room for a modern OS and updates as well as usable programs. For a basic use device this would be the perfect hard drive.
