Don't have to share a network with your guests.

The Netgear N600 is stable and goes out further. It has two networks streaming at a max of 300 mbps on each network. One network could be used for your own computers, cell phone and apps. The other guest network can be used for products available to the public such as Alexia, guest cell phones and guest laptops. This protects your privacy on your primary network from visitors and friends.

    Netgear

I have used netgear routers for years, This is the first that was junk. I am running windows 10 and you cannot setup on windows 10 so I thought it was that problem until I tried it on my windows 7 computer and the thing was dead. Now it may be that this was a fluke, the dead part defiantly. This may be a good product but all I could salvage was the power supply. I put it on my netgear single band no problems with it . I still recommend netgear because I have had good luck with my others. I have spoken with a few people and most have had problems with this model.

  • Good value for the price. Refurbished seems to be like-new.

I bought a refurb WNDR3400, not a new one. The $35 price can't be beaten. This is the second wireless router I've owned. I just bought a Netgear WRN2000 brand new in July, and then this N600 dual band router came up, so I upgraded. I expected stronger signal strength from the N600 WNDR3400, but I'm not really seeing any improvement in range and/or signal strength compared to my basic N300 router. They both perform the same; no change in signal strength or dropouts has been evident, so far. In that respect, I'm a little disappointed in the N600. That's why I rated it 4/5 for performance. The N600 does offer more features, though. Not as many routers and wireless devices are on the 5GHz band, and having dual-band will be useful to me if I move to a more ...

  • Great router, Great Value, no support for refurbished units.

This router seems to be just fine, but Netgear support is "Worthless". Keeping in mind that I bought a refurbished unit, I still expected to get a little help when I called, but got no help at all. Unless of course I wanted to pay $40 for a one time assist or $79 for 90 days worth. Enough said about that. If you buy one of these refurbs you can go online and download the manual and quick start guide, which helps greatly. One thing to keep in mind is that when you first connect everything remember to unplug your modem and take out the battery before connecting the two. At first I didn't and had problems. After trying again correctly, the router hooked up and recognized the modem and went through the setup process just fine. It now is working great and my connection is ...

  • Great router - great cheap clone wireless repeater

I owned one of these when I purchased a second to create a repeater for wireless connectivity. It worked first try; there's a detailed procedure within the router itself when you browse to it as admin. I was getting a -65 to -75dbm upstairs then after the install I'm getting -30 to 35dbm! The thing to remember is that the repeater must be a wired connection to your base router. The ethernet ports in the repeater can also be used, thus providing multiple computer/devise access wherever you set it up. If you have a basic understanding of routers, you can significantly increase your wireless range by cloning your base unit, just get the exact same thing, turn off DHCP on the repeater and make any manufaturer's adjustments and you're good to go.
