Easy to use, does what it's supposed to do.
This is a replacement for a 5 year old identical model. It works well, but I had worn off the writing on the original buttons. When I looked for a newer model they all were meant to control too many things. I just wanted a remote for my TV and components. We had a very difficult time programming the new Harmony. Even though it is supposed to be Mac compatible for programming, it is not! After trying for hours, including customer service phone support, the only way we could program it was to pay someone to bring their PC laptop. Unit was subtly sticky.
Description stated not sticky, this is inaccurate. The part was somewhat sticky. Will be keeping it, as it is far less sticky that the one I am replacing. This unit came with the complete back cover with stickers and glue on them. Not going to use that complete back. The price was right for what I received.

Not perfect but the best in class.
Cosmetically RF unit is more appealing than a 1100 with an RF add on. The 1100 RF is really an old wireless mouse dongle design. The RF is slightly more responsive and does not have to plug in to the computer to program it. 1100 RF module has to be plugged in to USB on computer to re-program. It's a real pain espeically when trying to iron out the programming. 1100 without RF is a pain because you need to keep the unit pointed to devices while pressing the soft buttons. Not nice when you're lying on the couch. You will spend less time programming because the hard button assignments make more universal sense then programming the soft buttons. Display is okay, responsive, and rugged enough to survive many falls from the bed, couch, etc. Their means to program things based on ... The database isn't perfect as you still get some devices that switch channels twice or volume twice when you only click once so tweaks are necessary (Adjust blaster strength) Database list of devices also can use a serious upgrade. E.g. if you have Apple TV and trying to set it up to turn off when not in use... You'd think it's easy but it is not. Apple TV doesn't have an off button so it's not easy. You'd figure something as popular as this should be already spearheaded by their support team but they really seem to let the user community figure it out themselves. This product can certainly be Excellent but it's almost like they are the only provider of such a product and may be too comfortable and not really trying to knock it out of the park. Also if you're in an activity e.g. Watching TV via AV receiver and notice somehow the Network Media Streamer is left on and want to turn it off. You have to switch to device mode and really drill down to look for the turn off button. If you want the on/Off button to be avail within the activity then the dang activity wants to turn on the device when the activity starts. I realize the restrictions work for most people but if you want to break the rule, there doesn't seem to be a means to do so. I like complete programming freedom. Why place restrictions to advanced users? Programming is entirely on the PC so small corrections while you're testing the setup isn't possbile within in the remote. You can't have 2 remotes under one accout on harmony website also a bit strange. There really doesn't seem to be other choices out there in the same class. Why did I buy it? They are still the best unless you go to professional AV guys.

Really really god but not great. Proud to own it!
I have 5 and sometimes 6 different components making up my home theater. That makes 5 different remotes with 5 different layouts. When friends come over it seems they always get confused about which remote, which input or which function everything needs to be set on for it to work. I constantly find myself having to stop what I'm doing to help them or try and train them over and over. The Harmony 900 eliminates the clutter of remotes and with literally one button it can set up the whole system in seconds for every single function. The touch screen simply says Watch Tv or Watch dvd etc...Touch the screen and away you go! That's it. It really is that easy. On to the Downside: The cost seems high for the remote though my dumb#*! paid it. I also think its ridiculous to have to ... I have 5 and sometimes 6 different components making up my home theater. If I could do it all over again I would buy the non-touch screen version and keep the ps3 blu-ray remote close by and save probably $100+ combined. The touch screen is cool but not at all necessary when the non-touch has a great color screen as well and easier buttons to push. Barely a difference...either you touch a button next to a color screen or touch a color screen. I mean for the money it now seems silly. The only downfall to the non-touch screen version is that it doesnt have rf capabilities which is nice if you want to hide components behind cabinets or in other rooms but Ive never seen that set up at anyones houses.. ever. Have you? All in all the Logitech Harmony 900 does exactly what it says it wll and to me that really counts for something nowadays.I would never talk anyone out of buying this remote but once you get it you will be a little ashamed you spent that much money. Just a little though. I'd be more than happy to field any ?'s you anyone may have before purchasing. Holla.

Logitech Harmony One - Model 900
I bought this second hand. The backplate was a bit sticky, very yellow and funky. But I know how to clean plastics, so I bought it any way (with the charger/power adapter). I recommend using Meguiar's Plast-X plastic polish to clean all manner of plastics. Initially I used lighter fluid to remove some of the gunk, then polish. About 10 minutes of work. Works like a charm. It looks and feels silky smooth now. Just don't gunk up the buttons, use sparingly, many small swirls. Apply polish to the rag, not device. It was easy to program. Connect to pc and the drivers installed effortlessly. Then I downloaded the Logitech program (x7 I believe, an older version for this particular model remote) which it requires. It's of course great that Logitech keeps the older software on their website and ... I bought this second hand. The backplate was a bit sticky, very yellow and funky. Ie Though this remote is rather old (2017-2018?), it had the Xbox One X console and Sony 4k tv model I just bought. Works pretty well. In any case, I would recommend the Harmony One 900 model today. But you may find a brand new or newer model less trouble. A used remote may have an old battery that may need replacing, and electronics do eventually fail. This is my first Logitech smart remote. In the past I thought these things were priced too high, probably not that great, and a burden to program. I was wrong on all accounts. I would consider buying a Logitech smart remote again after having had this experience!
