    A true classic.

    I have loved this book since I was a freshman in high school in 1967 and did a book report for my English class on it I still have the paperback copy in storage somewhere but I wanted to read it again so I bought another copy which by the way came in in excellent condition. don't listen to the protesters that say that this is a racial fueled book that should be banned. It is a beautiful wonderful love story that just happened to take place in the deep South during a turbulent time in history.

    Great story with some historical background of what it was like to be a female during Civil War in the south...and a young woman who began as a immature girl and her fantastic notions into a mature woman who saw there was still hope even though she had lost everything.
