I bought this version because it contains a bunch of extras you don't find in the regular version. There is a bonus DVD with BFL videos of various highlights and features from actual NFL archives. Perhaps the best part is in the audio settings. You can choose familiar NFL themes to play in the background. Great item even if you don't play the game.

I've been playing madden since 89 and I finally decided to get the latest madden 2009 special edition. There are a ton of new features in madden 09 including advanced game play settings tuned specifically for each person playing based on their strengths and weaknesses. The players and field have taken on a more realistic appearance as well making the game even better than the year before. The thing with madden is that each year the game just seems to get better. This year I wouldn't suggest running out getting this game immediately, paying full price for this game wouldn't be suggested only because madden 08 is just as entertaining as the new one. This is one of the best games for a person who loves to play or coach football, it has all the excitement and learning it takes to make any game fun. You can start playing a game and forget about the time because you are having so much enjoyment from setting up strategy against your opponent to execution of a play and look at how much history you have to learn from,2001 to 2009.

This is one of the best Madden games I have ever bought it has the best graphics out of any game I have played yet. It has no more lag to the 360 Console on both Xbox LIVE and the Career mode. It also has the Madden test and the Virtual Trainer which both are very helpful when playing games. Whenever you are playing against the CPU their is a Backtrack which shows who you threw to and who you should have thrown to if you made a poor decision on who you threw to. This is the best Madden game yet I would recommend any of you buy the 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition you get 20-40 USD saved you get NFL Head Coach 09 which costs anywhere from 10-50 USD. You also get a Bonus Disc so that is 3 discs jam packed with fun.This is one of the best Madden games I have ever bought it has the best graphics out of any game I have played yet. Madden 09 Finally Gets It Right!!
This is by far the most innovative chapter in the Madden Series. The gameplay is smooth & flawless, while the graphics are breathtaking. The weather effects have been improved drastically to give that "in game" feel. While I may not have use for the "mulligan" like feature, it is good for those learning the game to see where they made mistakes. The commentary is a refreshing break from John Madden and his overly used expressions. This has me waiting with eager anticipation to the next installment in this storied franchise.This is by far the most innovative chapter in the Madden Series.
