Genuine HP ink is the best you can use.
Nothing like having genuine HP ink but to be honest, it is quite expensive, over $50 for black and color and that isn't even the XL. As far as crispness in printing letters and photos, it is excellent. I mainly print in draft using only black ink to save my ink. Highly recommend it but I don't think it's a good value.

What I failed to notice in the description of this product is that while the ink package was un-opened, it had expired in 2007 (4 years ago!) Had this info been WITH THE REST of the description, I would not have taken the chance. I am using the cartridge because it is the only one I have, but the only color it prints is muddy brown! I was attracted by the price, the fact it was new, nice picture .... what can I say? I have been purchased over 100 items on Ebay, and this is only the 2nd time I felt duped. Normally, original HP product works just fine, and maybe only certain models of printer balk at refilled carts. Just the same, I recommend sticking to the OEM product in original unopened HP packaging. I'm less concerned about date code, especially since the 45 + 78 package is getting scarce.Be careful buying ink for HP printers.
