  • Rokinon SP 85mm f1.2 on medium format cameras.

My set up: Fuji GFX medium format mirrorless body with TechArt smart adapter to mount EF lenses such as this Rokinon SP 85mm f1.2. Pros: Great color and microcontrast. Super sharp at F1.2 with minor CA that disappears around F1.8. Excellent fit and finish on this beautifully crafted lens. Great price too for a lens of this quality. Cons: Extremely heavy and LARGE, much larger than I had imagined but that was my own misconception. Takes 86mm filters. Looong focus throw. Cheap flimsy hood. I'm also a Canon and Sony shooter but have not yet mounted this to those bodies for testing.

  • Outstanding Sharpness, a Lot of Lens to Carry

A very sharp lens, reportedly sharper than the Samyang/Rikonon 85mm f1.4. It has no autofocus, but the camera body does signal when you achieve focus. For bringing the subject close under low light conditions, it's a world beater. You do have to take your time and focus carefully though. With plenty of light, you're better off with the Canon 55-250mm, which is lighter to carry and faster to use.

  • Easy to shoot with.....

I recently purchased this lens and given that no one else has left a review, I'll be the first to do so. My intentions for this purchase was to have something really fast to take astro shots with, as well as satiate a desire for a Zeiss Milvus 85mm 1.4, which is what I REALLY wanted. However, upon opening the box and connecting the lens to my Sony A7II with a Metabones adapter, I have to say I don't lust the Zeiss lens anymore. I've noticed that many photographers seem to complain about the weight of various camera lenses. Well, if you're a photographer that is incapable of a few push-ups regularly, don't purchase this lens because it definitely has weight to it. I have yet to actually weight the complete setup up but, it FEELS very similar to the way my camera feels with a Canon 70-200 ...
