About this product

Product Information

What happens when you want to go to college but no school accepts you? If you're Bartleby Gaines (Justin Long), you invent a fictitious university and create your own destiny. Playing like a PG-13 version of OLD SCHOOL, ACCEPTED follows the Ferris Bueller-esque Bartleby as he and his assembled crew of college rejects dupe the world by building the South Harmon Institute of Technology from scratch. There's his nerdy friend Sherman Schrader (Jonah Hill), who is actually enrolled in the well-established Harmon College across the way but who helps Bartleby with the logistics; the hyper-smart Rory (Maria Thayer), who put all her eggs into one basket and got rejected by her dream Ivy League school; Hands (Columbus Short), a football player who lost his scholarship when he blew out his knee; Glen (Adam Herschman), a former quickie-mart employee who is about as dumb as they come; and, finally, Uncle Ben (Lewis Black), a former academic who gets talked into become the makeshift school's dean when he gets fired from his latest job selling sneakers at the mall. What begins as an innocent ploy to make his parents happy quickly spirals out of control when Bartleby realizes that several hundred kids have shown up for orientation. As he digs himself into a deeper and more irrevocable hole, something strange happens: Bartleby realizes that he's actually on to something. Steve Pink's ACCEPTED is a lighthearted comedy that has its heart in the right place.

A dumb but funny "Kid Flick" about a bunch of high-school losers who spent all of their time screwing off, and smoking pot, and just having a good time. Now it is time for college, but not even the truck driving school will accept them. In an effort to appease his parents (and find a way to screw off for four more years), Bartleby Gaines (Justin Long), comes up with an idea to start a completely fictitious college, named the South Harmon Institute of Technology. He and his group of fellow dummies are all having a good time, until hundreds of fellow dummies show up for orientation! This is a lighthearted comedy and has some very funny scenes, but won't be winning any major awards.

  • Soundtrack to my Freshman Year

I saw this movie in theaters the summer before I started undergrad and it was so relevant to my college experience. Justin Long is absolutely wonderful in this and Lewis BLack was spot on. A young Columbus Short and Jonah Hill are also enjoyable. Full of laughs and inside jokes those of use who went away to school will get. A real treat

I love the humor in this movie. Some quotes from the movie. "Great now I cna finally get hepatitus". I hope you have hobo stab insurance". "You were afraid to try the new flavor of Dr. Pepper". I told you that in confidence". It is hillarious especially when you need to take your mind off things at home. This movie makes me laugh everytime I watch it. Wich is at leats once a week. I recomend this movie to anyone who needs a good laugh!
