    raynox dcr-250 macro lens

the lens is good and the plastic mount give me trouble every time i use the lens. now looking for a adapter ring so i can throw the cheap plastic adapter in the trash. the two small cleats (used to grasp the 67mm threads in the end of my nikon camera) align with the threads and cause it to misalign the lens. the design is flawed. carl

    NOT DURABLE

The lens is nice and gives nice pics, but the material of the lens adapter is not good, poor plastic and the rims of the snap-on are very week, it broke the first time i used the lens. I hope there is a better way to apply the lens to the camera, a ring adapter should be better.

  • great lens and great value for the quality of the components.

I own a Panasonic Lumix FZ-150 and this macro lens fits perfect in the tube adapter for this particular camera. It's Japan made, well built, comes with protective caps on both sides of the lens. The "snap-on" universal adapter works very well and engages firmly and safely on the lens barrel or tube adapter. The quality of the glasses is superb. I couldn't see any noticeable distortions on the image caused by poor quality optics. The narrow deep of field issues are the same that you will have on any similar macro lens (there are no magic tricks to solve this optical restriction). The lens and the external ring comes separated one from the other (you have to screw the lens on the ring adapter to use it), and then after the job, if you want to keep the lens ...

  • Must have patience with this amazing lens and love macro photography!

Being new to macro photography, I bought this lens from positive reviews I found on line. It is a great lens for the money, but you will have to have a lot of patience to use it. I am still trying to figure out the best settings on my Canon SX40 HS in order to use this lens. Only buy this lens if you love to capture insects and other small creatures and it is helpful if they are not moving when you try to photo them! You have to try and find the sharpest focus by moving the camera forward and back ever so slightly. But when I get it just right I get an amazing, incredible close-up! I am going to keep trying and I do like this lens. It clips right onto your camera which is also a nice feature. Buy and enjoy if you are patient! I still hope to find more info on how to use it with my ...

  • I loved it! If u cant buy a DLSR with macro lens 100x or 150x, try this one

I have a Canon SX30 IS, and i'm work with insects, i'm biologist, and got a nice pictures of these small creatures is very very hard, without good camera and macro lens, but thats expensive and i can't afford... So my option was use a regular camera and try a close-up lens, but thats close-ups are very bad quality and didn't a nice result. But thats Raynox are amazing, the photos were great! clean, bright and nice focus... Yes Raynox are most expensive of all close-up filters, but i'ts better quality too! My only problem was with my camera, to do focus manually, i preffer manual focus like a DLSR cams, but what i can do? right? mine are just regular camera. I recomend to you. who looking for a nice macro photos with less money!
