    This is a great and cheap solution to use as a network core

    Even though it is not any more manufactured and can be purchased only used, thos great layer 3 switch still remains one of the greatest and reliable swictches for small ISP networks or their segments at a great price. Considering stability of work and technical capabilities I would rather buy 5-6 used cisco of that kind and have couple spares, than get one new layer 3 swich with limited functionality and weak processor.

    Good business and great product for the market value of the same unit globa

    Product was listed in good details supported by good business procedures being reachable at all time. Highly recommended to do business and this device reliability. The 2 Gigi RJ's ports are auto speed 1000/100/10 allowing it to be used with 3550's -FX units. GBIC's allows using with Cisco 5483 RJ45 adapters to chain metallic units in an extended Lab

    CISCO 3550-12G

    The WS-C3550-12G is just OK for L2, a single bgp session with 18k routes or multicast routing. It cannot handle more bgp sessions because of memory exhaustion. It also cannot balance port channel interfaces by ip criteria (only by mac).
