Disappointed with our i-Robot until ......
We have owned an i-Robot Roomba for several years and only used it less than 20 times. We found that we had to re-charge the OEM batteries sent with the unit at least 3 times to clean our 1200 square foot home. It became far more effective to used our manual vacuum, so the i-Robot sat. Fast forward to late 2015... We bought 2 sets of these batteries hoping to sell the unit with new batteries installed (and a spare set). The going price for the i-Robot would have easily justified the cost of the batteries. Once we received and installed the new batteries, everyone in the house fell in love with the i-Robot immediately. Needless to say that we did not sell the unit. We are getting 3 complete rounds of the house between charges. Furthermore, these batteries do not heat up and produce ... The battery would only last about 45 minutes in a Roomba 980 before it completely drained. It does not appear to behave well with the 980 which should last two hours on a full charge. Another odd thing is that it would not show a full charge on the app even after a day of sitting on the charger. The battery also weighs more than a genuine Lithium Ion battery that I purchased (and lasts two hours). This battery acts a lot like a NiMH battery. So far... so good
I debated off brand vs. Roomba brand batteries. I purchased these in part because my machine is about 4-years old and due for an upgrade/replacement because my 24/7/365 shedding Labrador hair is hard on the Roomba. My Roomba runs for 1.5-2 hours with these new batteries, same duration is new Roomba brand batteries for 1/3rd the cost. It's only been a month so I cannot attest to the life of these batteries but at 1/3 the cost I'm sure it will turn out to be a good economic decision. I got 150-200 charge cycles out of the Roomba brand batteries.I debated off brand vs. Roomba brand batteries. "Please clean and inspect" so the battery out lasts the vacuum's ability to hold dirt. So then, I think its great to have power to spare because ,I think the battery will last longer if not completely drained every time. I'm also proud to be part of Ebay . my favorite place to shop. Why? Because Ebay always makes it right! If on a rare occasion something is not what was ordered , they are there for you like a friend in time of trouble. I am so pleased with my friends that are always there if I need them. Its a secure feeling that is just perfect in an uncertain world.I am happy with this product, came quickly and was fully charged. If you need a replacement battery look no further for a good one for your roomba 500/600/700/800 at 3500 ma and should last all of the three years of life expectancy. You should only pay about $17.99 and the free shipping for this type of battery. Keep it fully charged at all times (don't disconnect from charger/dock when indicator turns green) as I find it works best in my roombas the best that way , will last longer and run at it fullest capacity about 90 minutes and even longer at times!
