This can truly be a plug & play as it defaults to Auto when plugged in. There is a light bar that shows green (clean air) or red (not clean) air. We put this unit in the basement (~800 sf) and it is quick to turn on when needed and is efficient at clearing smoke & odors when needed. Sincerely thinking of getting another one for the main house level!
